To Clarify some confusion out there, for the championship CTR rides, a team consists of three riders/horses of which the two better scores will be used to determine placing, two are required to finish to place.

Competitive Trail Riding (CTR) consists of a horse and rider team. Veterinarian Judges evaluate and score the horses condition over a set distance of typically 25 – 100 miles, in a set amount of time.

The 2008 Canadian Nationals is hosted on behalf of Trail Riding Alberta Conference (TRAC) and is sanctioned by Canadian Long Distance Riding Association (CaLDRA).

The two-day 80 mile championships has both a provincial team championship and individual championship. The team championship entries are declared by each province.  Team members also be CaLDRA members.  Individual entries who are not part of a provincial team need not be CaLDRA members.

All CTRs will be run according to CaLDRA rules.

There will be prizes and points for horses participating with the Arabian Horse Association.
